Research Supervision

I welcome enquiries from potential MA and PhD students. Please email me if you are interested in postgraduate study, or have an idea or a proposal you'd like to discuss. The University of Brighton hosts a thriving postgraduate community with experienced and active researchers undertaking lots of good stuff in the social sciences and humanities.

I'm particularly interested in supervising in the following areas:

  • Leisure theory and social change
  • Space, place and culture
  • Sport politics & policy
  • Histories of mountaineering and outdoor adventure
  • British sport history
  • Coastal cultures and practices

I also welcome discussions on other potential topics.
